June 9th, Day 3

 Run Down

Today was our first day with the kiddos! We had so much fun getting to know them and learning the ways of handling children. Doing activities was a handful with all their energy.

(Ava is showing the kids how tsunamis work after
                                 they created one giant beach)

Songs and singing is always fun for us choir kids, but will it be as fun for the little ones? We have to bring the heat and pump them up! Using songs we learned in past VBSs and camps were the best choice, remembering how happy they made us.

(Teaching the kids 'Love the Lord Your God' and 'I am a C-H')

Another service activity we've been up to is assembling letters! They had pamphlets inside for the members of the community to fill out a survey to help the church get to know them.

(Our assembly line: Libby-cutting open the letters
Jonah-putting in pamphlets and gluing them shut
                                 Ava-addressing them as 'Our Neighbors'
Mrs. Stelljes-writing the town and state
Lydia-writing house number, road, and zip code

Running around in the heat during the canvasing hours has been exhausting, but a unique and personal way to display our faith and service mindset.

(Jonah talked to a lady working on her garden
                                  while handing out the pamphlets)

We all agree today was a very fun first day and we can't wait to do it again tomorrow!
