June 9th, Day 3

  Run Down Today was our first day with the kiddos! We had so much fun getting to know them and learning the ways of handling children. Doing activities was a handful with all their energy.                                  (Ava is showing the kids how tsunamis work after                                  they created one giant beach) Songs and singing is always fun for us choir kids, but will it be as fun for the little ones? We have to bring the heat and pump them up! Using songs we learned in past VBSs and camps were the best choice, remembering how happy they made us.             (Teaching the kids 'Love the Lord Your God'  and 'I am a C-H') Another service activity we've been up to is assembling letters! June 8th, Day 2

Run Down This morning, we received an amazing sermon from the vacancy pastor here at Rock of Ages. Afterwards, we prepared for the week. We got our schedules, experiment lists, and the names of the kids we will be working with. We are in for a fun bunch of three girls and nine boys. We headed over to Kroger's, the Cub Foods of Tennessee, and bought all the lunch supplies we will be needing over the week. Once we got the groceries put away, we made our way to a Sounds baseball game where we met up with more members of the church. We spent more time at church, getting to know the ladies we will be working with as well as the building. We went right to work whether it was to move tables or to create a coral reef. June 7th, Day 1

Run Down This mission trip held at Rock of Ages Lutheran Church for an ocean and science themed VBS. It will be the first one in decades. We currently have 12 kids signed up and ready to roll!                   (Left to right) Ava, Lydia, Jonah, and Libby are playing a game of                   garbage as they wait for their plane to arrive for Tennessee We are excited and ready for all the fun times and challenges in store for us this week! Just after lift off - 10,000 ft The president of the congregation, Kory Henkel, met up with us and showed us around the church we will be serving! After, we were taken to our host family's house. We can see that we are well taken care of! We can't wait to get this week going!
